Privacy Policy
Last updated: 12 August 2026
Security Simon ("we", "us", "our") operates securitysimon.com. This policy explains how we collect, use, hold and disclose your personal information, and your rights under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
1. Who we are
Security Simon is a quote referral service. We collect enquiry details from homeowners and small businesses in Melbourne who are seeking security camera installation quotes, and we pass those details to independent licensed installers who cover the relevant area. We do not perform installations ourselves.
2. What personal information we collect
When you submit the quote request form on our website, we collect:
- Your name
- Your mobile number
- Your email address
- Your postcode
- Any additional details you choose to provide in the optional message field
- Technical information automatically collected by our analytics and advertising tools (see section 5)
We only collect information that is necessary to match you with a suitable local installer and to operate our service.
3. How we collect your information
We collect your personal information directly from you when you complete and submit the quote request form on our website. We do not collect personal information from third parties.
4. Why we collect and use your information
We collect and use your personal information to:
- Pass your enquiry details to an independent licensed installer who covers your area, so they can contact you with a quote
- Operate, maintain and improve our website and service
- Comply with our legal obligations
We will not use your personal information for direct marketing without your consent.
5. Analytics and advertising
Our website uses Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads conversion tracking. These tools collect anonymised usage data — such as pages visited, time on site, and general location — to help us understand how the site is used and measure the effectiveness of our advertising. This data is collected via cookies and similar technologies. You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
6. Disclosure of your information to third parties
We disclose your personal information to the following third parties:
- Independent licensed installers — your enquiry details are passed to one installer who covers your suburb. They will contact you directly to provide a quote. They receive your name, phone number, email address, postcode and any message you included.
- Formspree — we use Formspree (formspree.io) to receive and forward form submissions. Formspree is operated by Formspree Inc., based in the United States. By submitting the form, you acknowledge that your data will be processed and stored on servers located outside Australia. Formspree's privacy policy is available at formspree.io/legal/privacy-policy.
- Google — anonymised analytics and advertising data is shared with Google LLC (United States) as described in section 5.
We do not sell your personal information to any third party. We do not provide your details to more than one installer per enquiry.
7. Cross-border disclosure
As noted above, your personal information is transmitted to and processed by Formspree Inc. and Google LLC, both based in the United States. We take reasonable steps to ensure these parties handle your information in accordance with the APPs, including by relying on their published privacy commitments.
8. How we hold your information
We do not maintain our own database of customer records. Your enquiry details are transmitted via Formspree to the matched installer and to us by email. We retain email records for the purposes of operating the service and resolving any disputes. We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access.
9. Your rights
Under the Privacy Act 1988, you have the right to:
- Request access to the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of personal information that is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete or misleading
- Complain about a breach of the APPs
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable time and no later than 30 days.
10. Complaints
If you believe we have breached the APPs or your privacy rights, please contact us first so we can attempt to resolve the matter. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be available at securitysimon.com/privacy.html with the date it was last updated.
